Custom Readouts
The ASC 3-D Flash Ladar Readout or readout integrated circuit (ROIC) is a custom integrated circuit designed and built around a smart pixel concept. Each pixel in the array is independent of the others and is composed of a unique electrical laser pulse analyzer and processor. The laser pulse analyzer and data processor are made up of analog and digital circuitry. Each pixel processor captures and sequentially stores the incoming laser pulse and records its time of arrival independently of any other pixel. The incoming pixel pulse and time of arrival are down loaded from the readout array between laser pulses and is displayed graphically in three dimensions.

Standard Readout
ASC’s 128 by 128 Flash Ladar Readout is the only one of its kind in the industry.  The readout chip is compact, lightweight, low power and low noise. Other smaller and higher speed formats are available. Larger formats are in design. The ROIC is designed to accommodate many different detector types and consequently many laser wavelengths can be utilized.

Underwater Readout
ASC’s 128 by 128 Flash Underwater Ladar Readout is the only one of its kind in the industry.  The readout chip is compact, lightweight, low power and low noise. The readout is designed to accommodate many different detector types but silicon is preferred for underwater imaging. All pixels sample the laser pulse at a programmed time and a selectable frequency. This mode of operation is similar to the obscuration-penetrating mode also available on the Standard ROIC.
